🚀 Quick Start Guide

Get Summarizerrrr working on your browser in just a few minutes!

Step 1: Install the Extension

Chrome Users

Section titled “Chrome Users”
  1. Visit the Chrome Web Store
  2. Click “Add to Chrome”
  3. Confirm the installation when prompted

Firefox Users

Section titled “Firefox Users”
  1. Visit the Firefox Add-ons
  2. Click “Add to Firefox”
  3. Confirm the installation when prompted

Step 2: Get Your API Key

Section titled “Step 2: Get Your API Key”

You’ll need an API key from one of these providers:

  1. Go to Google AI Studio
  2. Sign in with your Google account
  3. Click “Create API Key”
  4. Copy the generated key

💡 Pro Tip: Google Gemini offers a generous free tier perfect for personal use!

Option B: Ollama (For local AI models)

  1. Install Ollama on your computer
  2. Run ollama pull llama2 (or any model you prefer)
  3. Use endpoint: http://localhost:11434

Option C: OpenRouter (Access to multiple AI models)

  1. Visit OpenRouter
  2. Create an account and get your API key
  3. Choose from models like GPT-4, Claude, and more

Step 3: Configure Your API Key

  1. Open the extension: Click the Summarizerrrr icon in your browser toolbar
  2. Access settings: Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the top-right corner
  3. Navigate to AI Model Settings: Click the “AI Model” tab
  4. Choose your mode:
    • Basic Mode: Simple setup with Google Gemini
    • Advanced Mode: Full customization with multiple providers
  5. Enter your API key: Paste your key in the appropriate field
  6. Save: Your settings are automatically saved

Step 4: Start Summarizing!

Your First Summary

  1. Navigate to any webpage you want to summarize
  2. Open the side panel: Click the Summarizerrrr icon in your toolbar
  3. Click “Summarize”: The button is in the center of the panel
  4. Wait for processing: The button will show a loading animation
  5. Read your summary: Results appear below the button

Try Different Content Types

  • YouTube videos: Get video summaries and chapter breakdowns
  • Web articles: Summarize news, blogs, and articles
  • Selected text: Highlight any text and right-click to summarize
  • Udemy courses: Deep learning summaries and concept explanations
